About Me
I don’t have a story about me that feels complete. I have fragments. Will that do for now?
I’m a mama to a seven-year-old girl who I still cannot believe is real. (I don’t know how to do right by her magic, but I try.)
I love gardening and watercoloring and making things by hand and from scratch, and living a simple, local, connected life. And after a lifetime of working hard to be successful in the patriarchal sense, all of these loves take me by complete surprise.
Routine feels comforting to me until that changes on the spot and I feel absolutely suffocated by it. Movement in all the ways is essential to my wellbeing in a desperate way.
My religion is feeling part of the pulse of this magnificent Earth and Universe. Everything falls into place with that.
I love mornings and evenings and nights, and midday somehow feels too bright and exposed to me. (Is that just me?)
I have always wanted to change the world for the better, and I’m beginning to find a little peace in the fact that creating the best version of myself has a much bigger impact than I thought…
On my way through town, I pass two donut shops. The sign above the first shop reads: Berkeley’s Best Donuts. Above the other one: The Juiciest Sin of Your Day…
Storytelling:
Sharing a moment: A giggle, a pause, a purpose. Connecting. It creates energy and sparks imagination. We invite people to be part of something bigger. It’s genuine and real and human.
The Opposite of Storytelling:
Unsurprising, uninspired, unimaginative. Empty. Expected. Playing it safe. Business jargon. Perfection, sterility, façade, machine-made, conformism.
